The value of investments (and any income received from them) can fall as well as rise and you may not get back what you invested. For some investments this can also happen as a result of exchange rate fluctuations as shares and funds may have an exposure to overseas markets.

Investors are advised to consider carefully the special risks of investing in emerging market securities. These economies also have been and may continue to be affected adversely by economic conditions in the countries in which they trade.

Investing should normally be seen as a medium to long term proposition, for example 5 years or more.

The value of any potential tax advantages will depend on your personal tax circumstances and we recommend you obtain independent tax advice.
