Before investing you'll need to meet one of our wealth managers who will take time to understand your financial objectives and your attitude to risk. After your financial review, we'll select the funds that best suit your needs. Once your wealth manager has provided their recommendations, you can decide if you're happy to proceed.

Your wealth manager will offer you a financial review each year, to ensure your portfolio continues to align with your financial objectives and attitude to risk.

AssetMaster* online portfolio management

Your wealth manager can set up AssetMaster which allows you to manage your investment portfolio online. AssetMaster is an administration service that streamlines the buying, selling and switching of your investments. With AssetMaster you can:

  • apply for investments with minimal paperwork
  • transfer assets with minimal paperwork
  • instruct us to buy, sell or switch funds via online banking or email
  • maintain a single point of contact for your investment transactions
  • consolidate your valuations for a portfolio view
  • view online valuations, via online banking


Before you can invest, you'll need to have a financial review with one of our wealth managers.
You can book a financial review if you:

  • have £25,000/US$35,000/€25,000 or more to invest, or
  • have £500/US$750/€500 or more to invest per month


All funds and fund providers available through the Worldwide Funds Service are selected on merit and have been approved by HSBC Group. Each of the funds is exposed to different levels of risk. Some will be more volatile than others and the risk of capital loss will vary between funds.

* AssetMaster is an administration service, not an asset management service. Not all countries are covered by the service - and some investments are excluded, such as stock market traded shares/funds, bank deposits and some collective investment schemes. Applications to transfer current or future investments into the service will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Please remember that the value of investments, and any income received from them can fall as well as rise, is not guaranteed and you may not get back the amount you invested. This could also happen as a result of changes in currency exchange rates, particularly where overseas securities are held or where investments are converted from one currency to another. We always recommend that any Investments held should be viewed as a medium to long-term investment, at least five years.

You should carefully consider the special risks of investing in emerging market securities. These economics also have been, and may continue to be, affected adversely by economic conditions in the countries in which they trade.
