Eligibility and how to apply
HSBC Expat customers
To apply online for an American Express Platinum card you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- have at least USD/EUR 50,000 Assets Under Management2 with us
- hold an HSBC Expat bank account in the currency of the card you are applying for
If funds are not held with us, you’ll be required to provide proof of funds.
American Express Services Europe Limited (AESEL) is not authorised to issue cards to residents of the US or Singapore, or via banks located in Singapore.
Further restrictions may apply subject to American Express acceptance policy.
