Register for digital banking

The Personal Banking Number (PBN) is a unique 10-digit numerical code that we send to new customers when they join HSBC, usually by email. You'll need to retrieve this number to register for online and mobile banking.

If you've forgotten your PBN, please call us on +44 1534 616 313 if you're a Premier customer or +44 1534 616 212 if you're an Advance customer and we'll be able to help you.

During registration you'll be asked to set up a Secure Key.

Your secure key will generate authorisation and log on codes with the use of a PIN (or fingerprint/face ID if eligible) and will ensure only you can access your accounts.

You can choose to use a Digital Secure Key on your mobile by downloading the HSBC Expat Mobile Banking app. By choosing a Digital Secure Key, you'll get full access to online banking as soon as you complete registration and log on.

If you don't have a compatible device or don't want a Digital Secure Key, you can order a Physical Secure Key for delivery when you register for online banking. If you choose a Physical Secure Key you won't be able to access the mobile app.

You'll need to be registered for digital banking to access mobile and online banking. If you already have a username and Digital Secure Key, you can simply log on to the mobile app.
